The temple also has several shrines dedicated to Lord Shiva and his family members. The main shrine is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is worshipped as Thirukutralanathar. Other shrines are dedicated to Goddess Parvati, Lord Murugan, Goddess Durga, Lord Ganesha and Lord Vishnu. The temple also has a beautiful lake where devotees go to offer their prayers and seek blessings from the deities.

The Thirukutralam Temple Tenkasi also has a rich cultural heritage. It is believed that the temple was the birthplace of the great Tamil poet Thiruvalluvar and the famous Tamil saint Nammalwar. The temple is also host to various festivals and special events throughout the year. The annual Chithirai festival is celebrated with much fanfare and attracts thousands of devotees from all over India.
