Gundaru Dam Courtallam Attractions - 2024

Gundaru Reservoir is located at the foot of the Western Ghats near the towns of Courtralam and Sengottai, Tenkasi Dt Thirunelveli. The dam is surrounded fully by mountains. Gundaru Dam is 15 KM away from Courtallam .

One of the best tourist spot near Courtallam. The water was cold and fresh. Great place to spend time with friends and family. You can visit the nearby hill station by either Jeep or walk barefoot. The areas are divided by dam and multiple falls which helps to divert the crowd to a different section. 



Monsoon is the Best time to visit Gundaru Dam and the rainy season too peak. The roadway views were excellent on which few were agricultural fields, banyan trees, river canal which was about to overflow and of course rainwater from hills flowing on sides of the road. The dam has an excellent viewpoint and boating service is available. Unfortunately, it will be close in the rainy season.

The closest town to Gundaru Dam is Courtallam at 8 KM
The nearest railway station is at Tenkasi, 13 KM away. Gundaru dam is located Near to Sengottai. Sengottai is connected by road to most places in Tamilnadu and Kerala. Seggottai is Directly connected with the City os Kollam via road and Train. Nearest Airport is located at Madurai (165 KM) & and Trivandram (100 KM). Pothigai Express connects Sengottai with Tamilnadu capital city Chennai Egmore.

Courtallam Jeep Trucking is located in Gundaru dam Sengottai. 15 KM from Courtallam Main Falls. Up and down 4 km Trucking journey towards hills. There are 7 falls located in this area but the public is allowed for only 2 falls Nei Aruvi waterfalls and Gee waterfalls.



We can take up and down jeep for Rent, Around 7 to 10 members accommodation in that vehicle. Off-Road trip people don't miss this journey.

Its great enjoyment by jumping from the heights and swim a long distance. It also has a place to learn swimming. If you’re an intermittent swimmer this dam will make you an Expert! Not much crowd as its a dam and way to reach is complicated by design hence family avoids this place. Mountain view is a green treat to your eyes. Passing Cloud across the mountain is an Amazing scenery no matter how large or how small the dam but fun guaranteed!!
